Position Overview We are seeking a Structural Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in steel and concrete design to join the team. This role replaces a retiring Lead Engineer and offers the opportunity to mentor junior staff, deliver a diverse portfolio of projects, and grow into senior leadership as the company expands through acquisitions and new offices. Responsibilities
Lead Structural Design • Lead design of steel and concrete structures from concept through permit-ready drawings. • Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure compliance and safety. • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Team Leadership & Collaboration • Provide technical guidance and mentorship for EITs and technicians. • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to resolve challenges. • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections. Project & Process Excellence • Provide accurate estimates for time and resources during project intake. • Drive efficiency in design approaches to save client cost/time. • Stay current on codes, software, and industry best practices.

Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (Master’s preferred). • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas (or ability to obtain). • 5+ years structural engineering experience with strong steel & concrete expertise. • Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, or similar). • Strong understanding of codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE). • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor staff, and manage deliverables. • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred • Experience with metal building systems. • Background in cost engineering / value-based design alternatives. • 3+ years of leadership or team management experience.
