Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a position of Civil Engineer in the Design/Survey Section, Engineering Division. Starting wage is $63,440 - $76,107 annually / DOQ.
The Civil Engineer will perform professional engineering work in roadway civil and hydraulics specialties.
Performs plan and design review, inspection and monitoring of District projects to assure compliance with stormwater quantity regulations; perform investigations, prioritize, and develop solutions to drainage and irrigation problems affecting District roadways.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with a variety of internal and external District customers and provide professional responses to public comments, complaints, and referrals. The Civil Engineer will also perform project management functions for internal projects and oversight of engineering consultants to develop solutions to District roadway drainage problems.
Must have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of the roadway civil and hydraulic engineering field, drainage system design, operations and maintenance.
Must have experience with surveying and construction design; street and road construction practices; drafting, design, and engineering computer software; irrigation systems and their operation; and monitoring contracts and professional agreements.
Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license and possess an Idaho Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required. OR Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities are acceptable.

Geographically, the Districts jurisdiction includes Boise, Eagle, Garden City, Kuna, Meridian, Star and the unincorporated areas of Ada County; it is the only consolidated countywide highway district in the State of Idaho.
