Greenwood (Miss.) Utilities is seeking an Electrical Engineer to fill a Vice President of Engineering position. Provides engineering and technical support; evaluates the Greenwood Utilities current system and future system needs. Utilizes technology to improve the ability of the utility, mentors and guides the engineering staff members and system control operators in carrying out their staking, mapping, circuit monitoring, circuit isolation, switching and personnel safety duties; establishes safety as the department’s No. 1 priority, maintains an accurate and up-to-date mapping system, maintains the phone and radio communication system and exercises oversight over the IT system, outside IT contractors, cyber security efforts and all IT hardware including servers, routers, PCs, substation video monitoring and facility security/fire alarm systems. Serves as the liaison and the point of contact for consulting engineers and technical systems experts for Greenwood Utilities.
A bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from a four-year college or university with ABET accreditation; registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Mississippi or meet all the qualifications to become registered as a PE in MS within 12 months of being hired (prefer registered as a PE upon hiring), Minimum of 10 years in the power-utility industry.
