We are interested in hiring a licensed engineer (PE) or engineer in training (EIT) to help grow our transportation forensic engineering practice at Kittelson LLC. In this role you will be responsible to investigate and reconstruct motor vehicle collisions, perform vehicle and site inspections utilizing the latest in 3D scanning technology, tools and equipment and software as required. You will work with licensed professional engineers and crash reconstructionists to further your experience in the forensic transportation engineering practice. We would also consider a candidate with previous accident reconstruction and automotive hands-on experience. An ACTAR certification would be a plus.
This individual will work with our in-house experts to provide case-specific technical expertise on an array of traffic crash reconstruction cases. Continuous on the job training would be provided.
Responsibilities will include at a minimum: • Conducting research and analysis in support of forensic transportation engineering case work • Preparing technical reports • Working with AutoCAD and other visualization and animation software • Deploying FARO 3-D Point Cloud Scanner and software • Conducting Commercial Vehicle/Heavy Truck Event Data Recorder downloads • Measuring and document Heavy Truck air brake systems • Obtaining passenger vehicle downloads using Bosch Crash Data Recorder Software • Preparing vehicle and scene photography and sUAS (drone) photography • Using Excel Spreadsheets and accident reconstruction software
Qualifications: • Strong analytical and field inspection skills. • Professional and highly motivated, dependable and conscientious demeanor. • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and subordinates. • Ability to write technical reports concerning the inspections and documentations. • Project management and supervisory experience highly desired. • Ability and willingness to travel with occasional overnight trips • An excellent driving record.
