The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE) Del E. Webb School of Construction (DEWSC) seeks applicants for a lecturer position (all ranks) beginning in the Fall 2019 semester. The appointment will be made at the rank of Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Lecturer, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments.
Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in construction, with an emphasis on heavy/civil construction, including courses in project management, planning/preconstruction, estimating, construction methods and materials, heavy equipment operations and environmental aspects of construction. Other responsibilities include working with student organizations and competition teams, supervising undergraduate projects, participating in course and program assessment, and engaging local industry associations affiliated with the program. This position is non-tenure track. It is anticipated that the contract will be renewed annually subject to satisfactory performance.
Minimum of an MS in construction management, construction engineering, or a related discipline by time of position start.
Demonstrated record of teaching.
Minimum of five years of Heavy/Civil construction industry experience.
Teaching experience in an undergraduate construction management or engineering program.
Teaching experience in professional training, seminars, peer-groups, and other coursework.
Ten years of Heavy/Civil construction industry experience.
Experience in working with students, student clubs and student competitions
Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching that incorporates active learning.
PE license, CPC, or other professional certification.
Familiarity with ACCE and/or ABET accreditation processes.
